The images in this folder were scanned from Roll 1 of the Harlan County records microfilmed by the Kentucky Historical Society in 1984. This particular book is Item #2 on the roll of film. The actual title of the book is "Appraisement & Sale Book", but the records appear to be a record of court fees. Dates included: 1824-1843 Film supplied by Holly Timm; scanning by Joy Fisher. The book is not paginated. The system used for the purposes of naming the image files was to use the first date in the upper left corner of the page in the format yyyymmdd.jpg If more than one page had the same date in the upper left, images of the subsequent pages were named using the format: yyyymmdd-n.jpg where n = 2, 3, ... In 1834 the scribe changed from a single page format to a double page format. The left page is dated, the right page continues the information from the left page, but is not dated. The images are named using the format: yyyymmddb.jpg or if the left page had the same date as the previous left page: yyyymmdd-nb.jpg where n has the same significance as above. The two pages called end1.jpg and end2.jpg were filmed at the very end of the book and were probably the cover pages. There were no dates on the pages to allow the naming format outlined above.
